Lock & encrypt your data
Bluebook can encrypt the most sensitive parts of your record (SSN-last-4, address, phone, free-text reasons, evidence filenames, transcripts) on disk using a passphrase only you know. The passphrase never leaves your device. There is no recovery — write it down.
What gets encrypted
- Appeal: name, last-4 SSN, address, phone, reason, new evidence, representative
- Third-party: writer name, phone, observations, abilities, impact
- Providers: address, phone, notes
- Medications: side effects
- Function Report: typical day, living situation, overall impact
- Evidence filenames + notes
- Voice transcripts
- Intake free-text symptoms
Everything else (diary entries, key dates, work history dates, listing matches) stays plain so the app can read it without unlocking. Encryption uses Argon2id (64MB, 2 iterations) for the key derivation and AES-256-GCM for the field encryption.
